A rather elegant and not too small yacht called Catalina of White Bay came in for a short stay. Compare this pic with Ngoni's arrival a week later. Someone will have mast envy. Catalina, formerly Timoneer was built by Vitters in the Netherlands and is nearly 45 metres long. You will all know that White Bay is on Jost VanDyke. Which is, of course, one of the British Virgin Isles.

The model of the Golden Hinde atop BRNC is4,093 feet away from us in Above Town (that's three quarters of a mile).

The pic might not look sharp toyou, but it's pretty amazing there's anything discernible at all. Yes, it is also known as the Golden Hind.

The Lower Ferry crew tried to apprehend a wayward Topper dinghy that had escaped from RDYC. Two attempts to float iit onto the ferry boarding ramp came close to success. But there was to be no cigar. Eventually one of Dart Harbour's patrol boat collected the honours. And the dinghy.

A straightforward construction update. Although there's very litte straightforward about construction in Dartmouth and Kingswear.

This little gathering of properties is pretty amazing. There have been three houses demolished One new house already built. Two brand new properties being built. Anther being significantly extended. And a sister property to the one on the right will be start in the near future. Hopefully none of them suffer the same fate as the Gunfield on the left. A multi year renovation. - and then very little use.

The peal of church bells coming from St Petrox alerted us to this. Boats were gathering off stumpy steps and eventually this happy couple and their boatman came upriver passing in front of RDYC which fired a cannon in salute. A number of boats were sounding their horns. Clearly a popular couple. Not that I know their names.
